Fissler Solea Frypan With Low-Fat Novogrill Surface, 9-1/2-Inch

excellent pan
excellent pan! made in germany and solidly built. the ignorant review from the other person on here doesnt do no justice. Its not meant to be Nonstick. everything i bought from fissler so far c+S cooking set, vitavit pressure cooker is supreme stainless steel quality, it blows anything away when it comes to other cookware brands. BUY IT!
Excellent High quality Frypan.
This is my second Solea Frypan. I purchased the 11 inch frypan first. The original reason why I purchased these Pans was because I bought a Induction stove. I could have used the Cast Iron Pans that I own. I have every size you can think of but they are heavy and they need to be kept seasoned. Your not supposed to wash cast iron under water etc..

I really love these pans but make no mistake about the claims that these are non-stick. They are kind of non-stick but there is no comparison to Teflon coated pans. That is only as far as their non-stick capability.

For these pans to work as Non-stick you must be very conscious of the temperature. Too hot and your having a problem. When you sear a steak it will initially stick to the pan but give it a minute and it will release very easy. It will sear a steak too perfection. I like it so much that I am not even using my BBQ this Summer for Steaks. They come out way better in the Solea Pan. Just watch your temp...
Problems!
AN EXPENSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT. THIS ITEM IS CERTAINLY NOT NON-STICK. ON THE BACK OF THE PAN, IT SAYS 'INDUCTION', WHICH I ASSUME MEANS IT IS MADE FOR NON-DIRECT FLAME. THIS WAS NOT SPECIFIED WHEN PURCHASING. GLASS LID? NOT INCLUDED. EXTENSIVE SURFACE DISCOLORATION AFTER COOKING. PERHAPS THEY SENT THE WRONG THING; DIFFICULT TO TELL. DOCUMENTATION DESCRIBES MORE THAN ONE ITEM, AND NOTHING IS PROVIDED TO SHOW ME WHICH ONE I HAVE.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS ITEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Fissler Solea High Saucepan, 3.4-Quart Capacity

expensive, but worth it
I love this pot. Its high-tech lid never leaves any mess on the stove, it is easy to drain water (e.g. when making pasta) and easy to wash.
True work of art! Quality,Quality,Quality!!!
Wish I bought the whole set. By far the best I ever owned. The first best pots that I owned was All Clad. These are much better and esthetically beautiful. They are solid but at the same time not as heavy as you would think. The glass lid is great. It does not fit tight, so do not be surprised. It is not locked in place. You can hang the lid on the pot as your cooking or stirring your food and prevent condensation drips on your cook top. That spells less cleaning and it is so convenient. The handles stay cool and they are attached to the pots exterior not the interior.

If you like to cook and have the money then you will not regret your purchase. You really do get what you pay for. These are the real deal.

Fissler 121 100 28 100 Crispy Steelux Premium 11.0-Inch Fry Pan

Hands Down- the Best pan we've ever owned
My wife bought this pan last year with the frying spatter guard and it is without a doubt the most useful pieces of cookware in our kitchen now. We use them at least 3 times a week to make the best steaks (we're big meat eaters) and chicken fried steaks. The bumpy bottom lets us cook with a lot less oil and as long as we don't overheat it, all of our food releases off the pan easily. We've been trying to eat healthier, so this has helped tremendously. We also just got an Intensa pot and it's incredible for waterless cooking. I wish I'd known about this cookware a few years earlier because we would have registered a whole set for our wedding.
better than I thought it would be
I got this pan to replace some nonstick cookware. The manual says the pan is perfect for fish, chicken, steaks, etc., but for eggs and other sticky foods to purchase their nonstick coated pans. However, I cooked some eggs in it with a light misting of Pam and they slid out like magic. It did as good or better on bacon than the "teflon" pan it replaced.
Excellence for most types of Stove Top Cooking
This is a wonderful fry, saute, pan. It is easily cleaned without any effort whatsoever. I would truly recommend it for all. The only drawback I found was that it was too heavy for my hand. The smaller size is perfect for me and that is what I kept.

Fissler Intensa 2.4-Quart Stainless-Steel High Saucepan

By association, not worth it...
Because this was purchased along with the Fissler Intensa Frypan, this is being returned - guilty by association.

This looks good and could potentially be a good piece to keep, however, I'm still returning this... see review for the Intensa Frypan:

I've been looking for cookware that support a healthier life. "Grilling and frying without the use of any oils," recommendation from a family member, huge discount and a great video on youtube, I was sold. Now the reality is in the actual test. It must be made for professionals because I thought I followed the instructions - heated up the pan 2/3 high, once a drop of cold water dances around, wiped on a little bit of oil and placed fish on the pan. I waited until the fish was "released" from the bottom - which took about 4-5 minutes (it was a thin slice of fish, not a big chunk of salmon, it was too overcooked) then flipped over. It did not taste like "fried" fish. It tasted like baked fish. The cleaning was a...

Fissler Original Pro Collection 7 Quart Stew Pot

Love Fissler pots and pans! But an update on this one...
High quality; well balanced; beautiful lines; classy looking; easy to wash; easy to store on a shelf or hang from a hook; lid easy to store; and not made in China. What more can a person want in a pot?

Update: Although I do love Fissler pots and pans and I use this one all of the time, I am changing my rating from five stars to four. The reason being:

When this pot arrived it had multiple scratches on the inside of it--the inside bottom and sides. Either it was a seconds, which should not cost $220.00, or it was damaged during the manufacturing without the manufacturer's knowledge, or it was a used and returned item sold to me as new, for $220.00 (which is most likely given where the scratches were).

I was instructed to take photos of the pot and after they verified it was scratched, they would arrange for another. I was leaving for an extended trip overseas, was very busy, and remain very busy. I took the photos before I left the country, but after my...
Fissler Stew Pot
Very good looking and really reliable kitchen stuff! My wife and me thrilled about that Stew Pot. The price is unquenchable high, but for such quality I guess it worth it. I recommend it!

Fissler Original Pro Collection Wok with Glass Lid

Well made stainless steel wok
I used to cook with a nonstick Circulon stir-fry pan, but heard that to do proper stir-fry, a higher heat must be used and nonstick is not a good material for that. So I purchased the Fissler stainless steel wok. It's a sturdy, attractive, well-made cookware with a special base that allows it to be used on an induction cook top, electric, or gas. The rippled bottom surface is purported to allow you to cook with less oil, but I have not found it to make that much of a difference. In fact, when I tried to make fried rice in this wok, the rice would stick to the stainless steel, despite my using a wok spatula to scrape the rice off during stir frying. And metal wok spatulas do tend to scratch the surface, as it would for any stainless steel cookware. So for rice based dishes I have used the nonstick stir-fry pan with much better results.

I have found the Fissler stainless steel wok is perfect for using with a bamboo steamer for dumplings or steaming pork spareribs in a...
Not as good as video
The ripple bottom make food scorch easily if there is not enough juice. Not as good as I thought. I watched the intro. video, they said you don't need to do anything, just put your ingredients then heat and wait. Actually, it doesn't work this way. It is still a good pot, but not worth that price at all.

Fissler Solea Stew Pot, 5.4-Quart Capacity

Hands Down The Best Ever!! The Bomb Baby!!!
This pot is the Best. I love it. It is more than just the pot, it is the Technology of the Pot! It heats quicker and evenly. It has to be energy efficient because it heats water to a boil faster and on a lower heat setting than any pot or pan THAT I OWN WITH THE EXCEPTION OF my other Fissler cookware. The Glass lid is the best. Not only does it look space aged but it really functions well. You can bring water to a boil and it does not over flow. The Lid is designed so that it is convex and so the water vapor hits the lid and flows, drains or drips back into the pot. Then when you lift the Lid off you can simply hang it on the side of the Pot, anywhere you choose and you never get a liquid spill on your stove top. I have it positioned so the steam is directed towards the exhaust vent. What else can I say? I think I nipped it in the Budd? There is absolutely nothing better and if there is I don't care because I am completely happy and could not ask for anything better.

I...
Beautiful, functional, well-designed stewpot
When I saw this Solea line of Fissler cookware on their website last year, I was seduced by its beautiful design and well thought out features. I had already purchased the Fissler Intensa 9 piece set a year earlier and was delighted with its quality, but I really wanted to own at least one Solea pot to see if it is as great as it looks on the website.

And it is! It is a substantial stewpot with a thick base that is designed to never warp. The glass lid is thick with smooth edges, and concave so that condensation will drip back into the middle of the pot instead of the edges. The lid is designed so that it can attach to the side of the pot in an open position, and I also noticed it can be placed flat on the counter without the concave glass ever touching the counter surface (and therefore not scratching the glass). The handles are a stay-cool shiny stainless steel which have no visible rivets on the inside of the pot. The inside of the pot has handy measurement lines...

Fissler Solea Frypan With Low-Fat Novogrill Surface, 11-Inch

Love it
excellent product seller a responsible and honest person I recommend it. I love Fissler Solea Frypan. Easy to clean. Good for health. bumpy botton makes crispy cooking with less oil. I just love it!
one word AMAZING
This is just an AMAZING product, I have been cooking chicken, steak, and fish. Put it on the stove, high heat, let the pan get so hot that the water runs around like marbles, then put your chicken in sear that side for 4 min turn it over 4 more min. Perfect most juicy chicken ever. Clean up is good, but the cooking is amazing.
the right choice for the "family chef"
really good quality, really good material
really heavy... if you were not a real "chef" you'd better make sure you are strong enough to handle this

Fissler 021 644 06 000 Blue Point 6-1/2-Quart Pressure Cooker

The Delight of Pressure Cooking
The Fissler 6.5 qt pressure cooker is a thing of beauty. It's heavy, shiny and detailed to perfection. I did look at a Fagor at Macy's and wasn't impressed by the edges of the lid; it didn't seem that care was taken in the construction. Deciding to splurge on the Fissler because of the reputation of the company, I have no regrets. You can download the manual from their site if you'd like to familiarize yourself with the instructions and features.

If you've never used a pressure cooker before, remember the I Love Lucy episode where Ricky exploded the chicken and have concerns--don't worry. They have been rethought and reengineered to prevent such incidents. They are simply a pot with a locking lid. If you can drive a car, you can easily do this. There is a learning curve, mostly about time. Get a good cookbook on pressure cooking--anything by Lorna Sass will help--they all provide charts giving you an idea how long things will take to cook. Getting a Flame Tamer...
Sturdy craftsmanship, beautiful design, efficient
We just got this cooker and are very, very happy with it. Made in Germany, of 18/10 stainless steel and containing an aluminium layer in the base, this pressure cooker is sturdy and looks and feels well made. It's easy to use, and the instructions are simple and clear. It's a bit on the pricey end, however, you can find this cooker for a bit cheaper at other online retail stores, where coupons are offered (We got ours at stacks and stacks d-o-t c-o-m). If you're looking to invest in a pressure cooker that will last you a life time, this is definitely one to go with. The 6.5 quart (some places say 6.4) is perfect for cooking soups, stews and legumes (we eat lots of bean and legume dishes), for a family of 4.

Review Update: July 4, 2010
Just wanted to add a follow-up to the above review: After using the pressure cooker for more than half a year now, we are still really happy with its performance and durability. You can take apart virtually every piece of this cooker --...
Very easy to use
I bought a 6.5 qt. Fissler pc a few weeks ago and am really loving it. It's easy to use and clean. I researched whether to purchase a Kuhn Rikon or Fissler and decided I liked what people said about the Fissler better. I belong to a blog where people were discussing what they like about their pc's. I'm still experimenting with various receipes and also bought a couple Lorna Sass books to go along with the p. cooker. I was undecided what size of pc to purchase and am glad I didn't buy a bigger one, as it's good sized. What's good is that I can use it to make smaller portions as well with no difficulty.

Fissler Original Pro Collection 3 Quart High Saucepan

Versatile, durable pan
I have elsewhere reviewed the Fissler Original Pro Collection 2.8 Quart Casserole (see here for details). My next acquisition after that casserole was this saucepan, although strictly speaking I am using the 2.5 litre (18cm) version available in the UK, Europe and Japan. After using it for five years now, it seems to me that it has all the virtues of the casserole of the same series. This saucepan is extremely well built. When I am on the road I have a habit of dropping in at local kitchen shops to look at their offerings and having travelled widely around Europe, the US and Japan I've seen a lot of cookware. I have never encountered anything, anywhere that feels quite as durable as Fissler products in the Pro Collection range. That's not based on any objective measurements, by the way, it's a purely qualitative judgement gained from handling many items of cookware. But still.

So, on to specifics. The...
Second size purchased of this line-Nice!
No problems with delivery. No problems with product.

I have two sizes of this pan, and the review of this one is the same as for the 1.5 quart.

The saucepan is well made, attractive, easy to care for, and has a nice weight. It's unobtrusive lines look good hanging from a hook in the kitchen. The lids are easy to store because they are not bulky. The pot is a good size for a variety of needs. So far, I'm very happy with this saucepan.

Update: After using this saucepan several times a week for more than a year, it is still in great condition so I am changing my rating to five stars. This little pan has earned it!
Why don't they have 10 stars?
If you're looking for quality cookware that can be passed on to your children this is it. I have this plus the 10 pc set and use them daily. Will never need to purchase another cookware set, and these pots are put thru their paces with 23k BTU burners. Sometimes it pays to have the right "tools" for the job! They are heavy duty and remarkably well made. You won't regret this purchase.

Fissler Original Pro Collection 3-Quart Casserole

Built like a tank
I own a lot of high quality cookware, including Le Creuset cast iron, which I use mostly for simmering and stewing, and Mauviel copper, which I use for tasks that need a more responsive pan. I forget exactly why I bought this particular Fissler stainless steel casserole, but it has been an excellent buy. It is very heavy, which makes it good for simmering stews, soups or pasta sauces. It feels extremely well made. Although it does not have the smooth internal enamel surface of a Le Creuset, food does not burn or stick to the pan and cleaning up after use is easy. For me the most important point is that because of the stainless steel surface I can use a Braun hand blender directly inside the pan to liquidise soups with worrying about the finish - I would be very reluctant to do that with any of my Le Creuset pieces. Externally the finish has developed a stained patina that I could no doubt remove if I wanted but I prefer it as it is; it looks pleasantly well used. The handles get warm...
