Durable American Quality
I have had my 10" Chef knife for 20 years now and use it nearly every day. This knife holds an edge quite well (hardness of 58 degrees Rockwell*) and because it is from LamsonSharp's forged series, they will sharpen it for you free of charge. It is a well balanced knife with a comfortable and good looking rosewood handle. The thick tang runs the full length of the handle and it is riveted together. This knife is made with steel from Solingen Germany, grade 4116. * This means when you tap it on its side it rings. Other knives just go thud. If the ring is sharp so too is the knife's ability to hold an edge. If it makes a dull thud it won't hold an edge for very long. I chose this knife for all the reasons above and for the fact it is made in America with a lifetime warranty.
Great knife!
Solid forged blade with good edge on it that is priced right. Made in the USA which still means quality for Lamson Sharp. I will buy more blades from this company to make my set of fine cuterly.
