Tramontina Limited Editions Series 1200 Enameled Cast Iron 5.5 qt. Covered Oval Dutch Oven

Issue resolved
This product came flawed, nick in the lid. It was packaged very well, so this flaw was at the manufacturing level (China). I bought it from Wayfair and contacted them regarding this. I was told they would send me a replacement lid.

Apparently, the company required the entire product be returned, and by the time I received this information, I had thrown the packaging away.

Long story short, Wayfair did give me a 10% credit off the product, I do appreciate that they worked with me.

As to the product itself, my husband cooked our Easter ham in it (as I had to work). He loved it, it is very heavy, holds heat well and Trivet is very sturdy with gripping feet.

I like the elegant look, and the handles make it easy to move which is a major plus as heavy as it is. It looks good on the table.

Tramontina Limited Editions Barazzoni 6 Quart Full-Clad Copper Exterior Covered Dutch Oven

My heart palpitates
and I sigh with pleasure when my eye catches my copper-clad Barazzoni hanging in my kitchen. Seriously. Okay, maybe I'm stretching the heart palpatation thing a bit--my heart does not really seem to be beating in my throat...But you should get the picture. I do--really--take a deep breath, and feel such pleasure, when I look at these few Barazzoni pots I have hanging on the side of a very old French cherry wood cabinet in my kitchen (thank you Command hooks).

So, obviously, the pots are beautiful. The design is called "Butterfly" and it was designed by Claudio Bellini. They feel good. They are a nice weight and the handles are soft and cool to-the-touch. The handles are on the slim side, but they still work fine for my long, thin fingers.

But do they perform? Yes, they do--perfectly. There are other pots out there that perform just as well, but these Barazzoni are much more elegant and beautiful. So, if you've got a nice high-paying, confortable job,...
I bought this as a gift thank Goodness I opened it first.
It looked like a great wedding gift. I am glad I opened the box and looked at it, what a horror... . Many places were discolored and the finish, gosh unbelievable. It was just terrible. For something at this price it should be beautiful not trash, it was even discolored at the rivets, that purple looks from over welding. Stay away from this company I guess the shipper must be okay but not the manufacturer gosh I am so glad I look ed. Perhaps at this s price the shipper should have looked. I am very unhappy, sending it back and its very close to wedding date. From now on I will stick to that M company from France. Their products are always so beautiful.

Tramontina 8-Piece 18/10 Stainless Steel TriPly-Clad Cookware Set

All-time best kitchen bargain!
Induction ranges have come way down in price--but for some of us they mean all new cookware. Even the stainless we had before wouldn't work. When we went shopping, I rejected All-Clad because I found the handles uncomfortable, even before we saw the price! Turning to Cook's Illustrated, which I love for its obsessiveness, we learned that Tramontina was rated right next to All-Clad, at a fraction of the cost. We figured it was worth a try, even without seeing it. I was amazed when it arrived, beautiful and comfortable--and with a reprint of the CI review tucked inside. I was even more amazed after using it. Practically non-stick, easy to clean, it's been a joy now for two years. When our son was home for a visit, he used it and was impressed with the difference good cookware makes--so we bought a set for him. We've since added a few extra pieces, including a 1-qt saucepan and a double-handled shallow pan ("Everyday Pan"?). We've been making a lot of ice cream using Jeni Britton...
Not as nice as it looks
My husband purchased the 12 qt size, 4 pc set for me and the instructions from the get go says it needs to be washed by hand. Really? Then while washing it, not even in the house for a full hour yet, the steamer handle rivet shot out and went down the drain. Really? Then after returning it, exchanging it and using it for the first time, the metal decorations on the handles were so hot I couldn't even pick up the pot or remove the lid; kind of important to be able to both while cooking pretty much anything in a pot. So, it's looking like the second pot needs to be returned as well. I would rather that it have less decorations and simply be safe and functional.

Tramontina Gourmet 5 Quart 18/10 Stainless Steel Tri-Ply Base Covered Deep Saute Pan

This is NOT the Tramontina pan reviewed in Cooks Illustrated
I recently purchased a set of Tramontina Tri-ply* pans from WM (the ones recommended by Cooks Illustrated) and was amazed at the quality of the pans. Please note that the pan shown above is NOT the same as the ones given rave reviews in the magazine. The difference is that the Amazon pan only has a tri-ply base whereas the WM version has tri-ply cladding that smoothly continues all the way up the sides. You can tell the difference if you look closely at the picture above. Look at the bottom and you will see a seam running all the way around the base of the pan. This is where the tri-ply base is attached to the plain stainless upper portion. Thus you only have tri-ply on the bottom of the Amazon pan. The tri-ply does NOT continue up the sides of the pan (the WM version which has a smooth seamless side with full tri-ply cladding running all the way up the sides.)

You have to be careful when purchasing Tramontina. They make everything from very cheap bottom line cookware all...
Great Pan!
I bought this pan when it was reviewed in a cooking magazine. It was compared to, and rated the same as All Clad. I really didn't believe it, but headed to the local low price store (WM) and bought one. I have a burner on my stove that has a hot spot and is perfect for testing fry pans. I am a huge All Clad fan because the hot spot really doesn't affect All Clad. Anyway I cranked on my burner and dropped some butter in fully expecting to see it smoking away. It didn't. It was as good as All Clad. I went back to the store and bought the whole set.
Nice Cooking Ware.
We are in the process of changing our cooking ware to all stainless steel and my wife decided she liked the Tramontina line of pots and pans best. So, we recently picked up the 8" and 10" saute pans. They have a real nice heft and feel in addition to looking beautiful. Plus the flat bottom conforms well to our ceramic stove top and they've given excellent results with everything we've tried so far. I particularly like the easy-to-grip handle. Nice cooking ware. And they're made in Brazil, of all places. We'll be adding more.

Tramontina 20-qt. Commercial StockPot.

Big pot, will boil
I got this pot to make pasta for 6+ dinner guests. I know it will handle 8 diners but may be able to handle 10.

Why a large commercial pot in a house? Pasta needs a lot of water to cook. Small amounts of water to pasta means that it will have to cook longer, therefore, soggy noodles. A large amount of water speeds up the process.

That said, I really enjoy this pot. It's light enough to clean easily but heavy enough to heat evenly and be rugged. I expect to have it for a long time.

Maybe 20 quart is not for you. That's not for me to decide. If you make pasta for more than 4 people, I would recommend the Tramontina commercial stock pots in either the 16 or 20 quart sizes. As long as you have the room, I don't think you would regret it.
Not quite All-Clad D5, but very very good
In this size, usually you get fairly flimsy commercial stock pots. This is a sturdy, well-built pot. It has a 3/8 inch thick, induction capable bottom for even heat distribution. This bottom design does not carry heat up the sides as well as All-Clad's multi-ply construction, but most people will be using it for stocks and stews. The handles are large, heavy, and riveted, not spot welded, which given this pot's size is essential. Overall, a very very good stock pot.
Excellent for brewing
I bought this pot at Walmart to brew beer. It works great. It heats quickly, even on an electric stove. Its bottom is thick enough so that the wort doesn't scorch. Its handles make lifting and pouring a snap. (Make sure you get the one with the silicone handles. These are far better and softer than the aluminum handles shown here. The two pots are otherwise identical.) Although it is sturdy it is relatively lightweight. (I had no trouble lifting it with nearly four gallons of liquid in it.) It is also relatively compact and so is easy to wash in an ordinary kitchen sink. It actually holds 22 quarts (5 1/2 gallons) when filled to the brim. While I'm planning on using it exclusively for beer I'm sure it would be good for large batches of chili, spaghetti sauce, and the like.

Buy this at Walmart or Sam's Club. The price there is approximately half of what is listed here.

Tramontina Prima 12 Quart 18/10 Stainless Steel Tri-Ply Base Covered Stock Pot

works great, good weight, looks good
I was considering an all clad pot and this is the same weight, sturdiness and feel plus it was $130 cheaper!!
8 Qt stainless stock pot
Haven't used it all that much but I do like the quality and sturdiness. I would definitly recommend this to anyone looking for a good stock pot. I am considering their 5 or 6 qt dutch oven/stew pot.
Two years later - pitting inside.
Although still serviceable and relatively attractive, rust pitting has commenced on the inside up high about an inch or two under the lip. I use this 12 quart stock pot a great deal for large batch preparation of food for canning, making large batches of soup, sauerkraut etc.

Cleans up easily and I like the glass lid. Triply bottom does spread heat evenly. I just lost faith in Tramontina's quality. Go spend a few extra dollars and buy a pot from the Emeril line of cookware.

Tramontina Limited Editions Barazzoni 3.5 Quart Full-Clad Copper Exterior Covered Deep Saute Pan

The 3.5 qt. - A beautiful, large diameter and high-walled skillet with great performance
I sigh with pleasure when my eye catches my copper-clad Barazzoni pots hanging in my kitchen. The pots are beautiful and they perform excellently. They have an elegant shape; a soft, but sturdy feel to the handles, and they have a nice weight--not light-weight, but not too heavy to lift or maneuver either. The line is called "Butterfly" and it was designed by Claudio Bellini. They feel good. The cool-to-the-touch handles are made of oxidized metal that creates a dull black finish that compliments and highlights the gleam of the copper. The handles are on the slim side, but they still work fine for my long, thin fingers.

I am reviewing the 3.5 quart-size pan that is one of the sizes available here. (I wrote the review for the 3.5 qt. pan and Amazon placed the review on this product page--not me. Can't explain it...) It has a handled lid, and besides the long handle on the pan, there is also a "helper" handle on the opposite side. Looking at the pictures, it might not be...
Extreme Quality
Unsurpassed in utility, quality, usefulness and beauty. If you can afford the price, buy as many as you can find - magnificent.

Tramontina Gourmet 6.5 Quart Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Covered Casserole

Price value good, but you can see why people LOVE Le Creuset.
The price can't be beat! $45 with free shipping is a great value regardless of what I write in this review. I was excited to open the box, and loved the color immediately! I continued to be impressed by the weight of the pot. But after completely un packing, I placed the lid on the pot, and looked at my wife and said, this is why a Le Creuset is $245, and this was only $45. The lid does not seal tightly, and you need to rotate the lid to find the position where it seals best, though it's still not 100%, closer to 90%.
Would I buy it again? Probably. Would I have bought it in a store, where the faults were clear before making the decision to purchase? Probably not. I just cannot justify the $200+ dollars for the "real deal".
I hope this helpful.

UPDATE: After using this dutch oven many times for a variety of dishes, I would increase my rating to 4 stars. The initial dissappointment of the ill fitting lid has faded, and what remains is a pot that does its job well...
After several years the cracks began to appear...LITERALLY!!!
I've used Le Creuset for years, but as my family grew, I wanted to get a larger Dutch Oven. I was hesitant in forking over the money for a 7 qt. Le Creuset, but when I saw the 6.5 qt. Tramontina for a fraction of the cost of the Le Creuset, I figured I couldn't lose especially since there was a Lifetime Warranty. I used this Dutch Oven for everything from braises, stews, to bolognese. My only qualm was that the interior would stain which I expected after reading the little manual...no big deal. I noticed that the enamel interior wasn't as thick as the Le Creuset, but I didn't care as long as I can cook with it. I liked the heft of the pot and its heat retention ability.

The fact that you can't use this pot at a setting higher than medium was ridiculous to me, but I complied so that my warranty would not be voided. I seared my meats in a stainless steel pan and then transferred the meat and deglazed the fond into the dutch oven. This was a bit of a pain, but it didn't...
heavy pot that's versatile
I bought this pot about a week ago and was amazed at just how sturdy (around 20 pounds in weight!) and versatile it is! I plan to use it to fry chicken on the stove and to bake bread in the oven. This pot was highly recommended by Cooks Illustrated so I feel confident that it's going to work like a charm! Couple things to note...the lid is only good to 400 degrees due to the knob, not 450 like the product description states. I purchased a Le Creuset knob to replace the Tramontina knob, but the screw for the Le Creuset knob is shorter and skinner than the one that comes with this pot so I'll have to get a new screw before I can make the swap. Oh, and you'll have to season this pan before you use it. That was no big deal really...just put a little shortning on the top of the pan where the lid rests and then stick it in the oven for an hour at 350 degrees and you're in business. All in all, I'd say this pan is terrific and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a versatile...

Tramontina Limited Editions Barazzoni 9 Quart Full-Clad Copper Exterior Covered Stock Pot

Superior Quality and Very Beautiful
I sigh with pleasure when my eye catches my copper-clad Barazzoni pots hanging in my kitchen. The pots are beautiful.

Looking at the pictures, it occurs to me it might not be obvious to see the lid: It is shiny stainless steel with the same dull black handle as the pot.

But do these pots perform well? Yes, they do--perfectly.

I indulged myself with this 9 quart stock pot to augment my 6 quart and 12 quart stock pots: I wanted a quart-size in between the 6 and 12...
Well designed Stock Pot, but fails in finer quality!
From all the research I could find about this stock pot it looked like a high quality product worth buying! However, when the product finally arrived I was disappointed to discover that it came in a real flimsy inner brown cardboard box with a small branded label. Further to that the pot itself was just wrapped up in cheap cellophane with some scotch tape holding the lid down. I know this does not effect the functionality of the product, but for the price of this pot you would think they could invest in better packaging??

Anyway, the design of this pot is really nice and this is really the only credit I can give it sadly! Upon closer inspection I also discovered two minor dings on the exterior, very small probably not worth returning. BTW This pot is actually made in China but says "finished off" in Italy. It has three layers to its make up as per the description, however, I did notice that the exposed ALU layer on the lip edge had oxidized to a point where my bar cleaner...

Tramontina 16-ot Commerical Stock Pot
I love the pot even I have not used it yet. I already have one and I love the fact that nothing sticks to the bottom of the pot.. I make a lot of meat sauce and it does not stick.
Thank you.
This is a great quality stockpot.
I use this kettle to make spaghetti sauce. It perfectly holds one gallon of contadina paste to 2 gallons of water, plus italian sausage and ground round. I simmer the sauce the better part of a day in this kettle and I love it because it's heavy and the perfect size. I will also use it for Chicken and Dumpling soup.
Love it!
I absolutely love this stock pot. I use it for canning as well as cooking soups, sauces, etc. in it. It is quite pricey but is well worth it. I bought mine at Walmart much cheaper than online. Have not had any problems with cleaning or damage on the pot either. It is a heavy pot and is an A+ in my book!

Tramontina Limited Editions Barazzoni 3 Quart Stainless Steel Covered Tri-Ply Clad Everyday Pan

Flawless piece of cookware
This is my go-to pan since getting one as a Christmas gift last year - really is worth the money. It heats beautifully on the stove top and it's wonderful to have a pan that's safe to take right to the oven for finishing off dishes. Heavy heavy duty and cleans like a dream, even after browning meat in it or cooking other things that tend to stick and burn.

Tramontina Limited Editions Barazzoni 5.5 Quart Full-Clad Copper Exterior Covered Casserole

Absolute Best
The products made by Barazzoni are the extreme best in the world. Fabulous heat rendition, at low inputs, quick cooking, easy cleaning (except the exterior). I rather enjoy cleaning and polishing the exterior copper after each use - the pans looks so spectacular when cleaned. This works equally as well in the oven, up to 450F, when cooking racks of lamb and other roasts. Absolutely worth the very high price for a piece of total quality.
