Love It!
The toaster somehow toasts the bread the perfect amount without overcooking and keeps it warm until pulling it out. Looks great, cool on outside; is really awesome.
viking 2 slice toaster
I have owned my 2 slice Viking toaster for well over 2 year's and find it to be the best toaster in the world. I was looking for another one for a second home. You can no longer find a white one, but black and red are still available at a great price. I just went to the Viking web site and am saddened that they are discontinuing toasters. I am writing this review as I see a couple people gave it bad reviews. I am sure there are some lemons. This happens with any and everything, but this is a great toaster and works amazing. I love the pull out tray on the front of the toaster. Easy to throw out the crumbs that collect. They are excellent and made in the USA.
FINALLY a good toaster
You would think that a toaster isn't that difficult to make well but apparently it is. I have tried many toasters and most won't toast sourdough bread to a golden brown, you have to put it down at least twice. The alternative is that one edge is burned and the other is tartar.
This toaster has slots wide enough to take a sliced bagel AND it toasts things to brown. You have to turn it up to almost max for moister breads but it gets the job done better than anything else I have tried. The heating elements extend to the edges so toast is very even all the way to the edge. The construction is solid and the looks are great. The exterior doesn't get too hot either so no fear of burning yourself. If there is any complaint it is that, at times, the bread toasts slower than you may want but I would rather have great toast than burned bread in 1/2 the time.
The price is moderately high but make the purchase, you won't be disappointed.
