Norpro KRONA Stainless Steel Steamer Juicer

Time to Juice!
Last year (2008) our little planting of grapes finally started producing. We borrowed a steam juicer and were able to can about 42 quarts of grape juice (along with eating a bunch and selling some). The juicer was so nice that we decided to purchase our own. This Norpro Juicer Steamer has many of the features we were looking for. Stainless steel. Good capacity. We also liked this unit because of the glass lid which allows you to know how the process is going without opening it up (one thing we didn't like with the steamer we borrowed last year). I also noticed that the handles are designed to remain cooler than the other unit - another good feature of this steamer.
Norpro KRONA Juicer Steamer
I was already familiar with juicer-steamers when I went looking for my own. This one is easy to clean and care for being stainless. The larger pan at the bottom means less chance of cooking off all the water. The glass lid makes it easy to check your progress on the fruit. The only downside is that the hose connection is mounted higher on this juicer than other models. It will retain a little more than a quart of juice below the hose which just means that you have tip it to get all the juice out after each batch. Not a big deal, but the first time you use it you think you aren't getting very much juice. I rate it a 4 only due to the hose positioning. Great product.
Steamer Juicer Really Works!
I was a bit skepitcal about the Norpro s/s steamer juicer and its price but read through the reviews and found them so favorable, I decided to give it a try. Specifically, I was looking for an easier method to extract juice from fruits and veggies for wine making, and I can say without a doubt, it's the best! It is heavy-duty; the top part held 4 gallon bags of currants and the bottom held 8 quarts of water. You do need to watch the pot so it doesn't dry out, but I had all the juice before I ran out of water. It's easy to clean and the glass lid allows you to look at the fruit as it's releasing its juices without lifting the lid. It was a bit pricey but excellent quality; it was worth every penny! And such a time saver. Thanks!

Norpro KRONA Stainless Steel 12 Quart Multi Roaster

5 stars except the price
Wonderful heavy duty, tri-ply bottom and tri-ply lid. Lid is flat and can be used as a pan also. I cooked an 18.64 LB. turkey in it and it was perfect. Clean up was a breeze too. I do think the price is a bit high but the quailty and functionality is fantastic. The roaster is heavy as one would expect with this size and the tri-ply factor. I only use tri-ply stainless steel cookware and have a few different top brands (command performance, Wolf Gang Puck to name a few) that do not carry a large roaster so I have now added Norpro Kona to my favorites list.
Outstanding Roaster
This roaster has been a great purchase. I've used it 3 times so far for roasting turkey and duck. It cleans up surprisingly easily. With the rack out, it handled an 18 lb turkey with the lid on. The quality seems very good with significant heft. The handles are very well placed to both offer stable handling and to minimize wasted space in the oven. The heavy bottom on both the roaster and the lid do a great job of equalizing heat distribution from the bottom. It's pricey, but worth every penny if you want a great looking and perfectly functioning roaster.
Wow!
Look, this is a large roasting pan. Why would you want one? To roast large things. What is it good for? Roasting large things.

It's very large, so you need room to store it (and wash it: it probably won't fit in your dishwasher) and it has a VERY heavy base (so if you put the lid on add an hour AT LEAST to your cooking time as it will take a while to heat up in an oven) but if you know what you're doing with it (and why you want it) then you can't really get better than this.

Pros: The base is the best turkey roaster I've ever used (note that I take my turkey to other houses frequently, so the lid is a must have for me). The base and the lid both have very thick, solid metal heat-absorbing cooking surfaces, and the whole thing is stainless steel, so it's super durable and reliable. The handles are offset, so it's not as wide as it would be if they weren't, but that takes some getting used to. There's a custom rack that it comes with that's perfect for...

Norpro Stainless Steamer, Juicer

Wow! What a time saver!
I am unbelievably satisfied with this Steamer, Juicer. I cannot compare it to other steamer/juicers since this is the first one I have owned. I received the item two days ago. The first day, I processed 11 quarts of grape juice. This morning, I have already processed 8 quarts and will soon have three more quarts ready to go.

If you have ever gone through the process of cooking grapes and then straining them, you will love this product! It has taken all the dread out of processing grapes.

The base of the this unit is a good weight. The unit when assembled on the stove does not tip or seem unbalanced. The upper two units are lighter in weight than the base, because the base has extra thickness on the base to absorb and spread the heat. The unit seems well engineered in terms of the steam coming out only where you would expect it. The juice flows out of the reservoir just as you would expect. The glass top really does allow you to see how far down the...
stainless steamer/juicer
this is an awesome product and I have been looking for one of these juicer/steamers for a long time......it is perfect.
Does a great job!
I have used this to make apple juice so far and it worked so well!! It made a messy job so much easier! I Also ended up using the steamed apples to make applesauce, there was hardly any waste and there was no need for cheese cloth or jelly bags!! I can't wait to use it again!!
The body is of good quality and the bottom is nice and heavy! I love the glass lid so I can peak in and see how the fruit is coming, I would never want one with a solid lid! I love the large handles it makes if possible to grab with oven mits, It is also very easy to clean, and I really like how all of the peices fit together so well, you don't need to worry about them slipping apart when cooking or storing. all in all a great new peice of equiptment to add to my home canning collection!! :)
