MIU France 7-Piece Stainless Steel Copper Core Cookware Set, Silver

loved these but didn't hold up well
I was so excited about these when I first got them - they look beautiful and it felt like my first set of grown-up cookware. I've had them a while now and they have not held up well. The non-stick pan was the first to go, the rest I still use but they are hard to clean. My Ikea pans have sadly lasted longer and are in better condition.
Poor UPS delivery guy
My UPS delivery guy carried this box up my driveway. Once I unpacked the pans I was sorry for him. The pans are extremely heavy duty. I have to reinforce the hanger on my pot rack. I made a roux in my large saucepan and it heated so evenly that I might not have needed to stir it. These pans may not cost the most, but these are exceptional pans. The handles are riveted, the lids are heavy and they are gorgeous. Additionally, the lid for the large saucepan fits the fry pan.

MIU France 10-Piece 5-Ply Clad Cookware Set, Silver

Appears to be very well made.
This cookware is very sturdy and well made. The buyer must be aware, however, that despite the name, the product is MADE IN CHINA. This is not found on the pans themselves, which are marked 'MIU France,' but in small print on the box in which they're packaged.
Solid cookware!
I'll be straight-up: I don't know a lot about cookware, even considering all the research I did. Here's what hours of searching, reading, and comparing has taught me:

-Heavy is good
-18/10 is the kind of stainless steel you want
-Multiple-ply cookware (layers of different metal) is better if the multi-ply goes all the way around the pan, not just the bottom

This set of cookware fulfills all these requirements, and look pretty neat too. Also, when I bought it, it was on sale for a cool $220, which is a pretty damn fine deal.

As for my personal review, I like these pans a lot. Having held them, cooked in them, swished them around in the air while making airplane noises, and so on, I can confirm that this, from a clueless idiot's perspective, is a very fine set of cookware.

Also, I promise this: if anything ever comes up (like the rivets holding the handles on the pot get loose or something) I'll come back and update this review. If...
Comparable to All-Clad
Absolutely wonderful cookware set. I wasn't familiar with the Miu name before ordering, but had seen a review online that said their 5-ply line was comparable to All-Clad. I own quite a bit of All-Clad, and so far this Miu cookware compares very favorably - at less than half the price of All-Clad. If you're looking for a high quality set, but don't want to spend $1000 or more, this is a fabulous buy.

GREAT VALUE
GOT THIS SET FOR THE WIFE, WHO WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE QUALITY! SAME GUAGE COPPER & STAINLESS AS ALL CLAD; SAME RIVETING, ALL AT 25 CENTS ON THE DOLLAR.
not was wonderful as I thought after about 10 months of use
First review: I looked this up on the manufacturers website and it made it seem that it was all clad in copper, as in copper all around. I don't think there is copper on the sides just from using them but I am happy with the set for the price. I really didn't want to spend the money on an all clad set. What irritates me about sets is that usually, there are pieces that you don't need and other times there are a few pieces you can't find individually so you have to buy a set. That being said, I really didn't think I needed more nonstick fry pans but I have now started using just the ones that came in this set due to the very even heating on the bottom. All the items seem very heavy and have even heating from the bottom but the sides of the pots are not super thick like one might like. The lids, being metal should be handled with insulated gloves or a dish towel because they get very hot. The non-stick frying pans have deep sides that slope in. Cleaning is no problem but I have...
Great Price, Performance from European Style Copper Clad Cookware
I had been looking for true and affordable copper clad cookware for some time. This product, although made in China, is still the real deal. It's robust and attractive. Cooking is a pleasure as the heat transfer is even. It cleans up to its original lustre. The price from this vendor was the lowest in North America and they shipped in less than 36 hours. I'm interested in growing my collection.

I was looking for a great stainless steel cookware set and found exactly what I was looking for in this. Its fantastic and so shiny you could trim your beard in the mirror image these pots give.
Highly recommended set for those with our without beards.
