Great Multi-purpose grill/griddle
Heats ups quickly and evenly; I've cooked everything from pancakes, to paninis(griddle side) and steak, shrimp and burgers (grill side) with wonderful results. The griddle side gives me good browning and crisping, while grill side cooks evenly and leaves great grill marks. Also does a good job of keeping food warm.(I don't even set it to "warm", I just unplug it). The grease trapper is the same size as the grill/griddle, which is good and bad because if you're cooking for a large group, you don't have to worry about the trap overflowing. But the bad news is that the "trapper tray" isn't dishwasher safe. But the grill itself is, so that's good news. But once again, it is pretty large (I can fit 6 pieces of French Toast comfortably), so you'll need a next-to-empty or very large dishwasher to make it fit. All in all, great grill and I'm very happy with my purchase, and 2.5 years later, it still works great even with my husband and kids abusing it. Oh, one more thing, sort of off...
A Grill That Is Flat And Hot - FINALLY!
I've been trying the Presto's, only to find that my eggs run to the center. Pancakes were troublesome because these other grills couldn't get quite hot enough.
Finally found this Wolfgang Puck. Perfectly flat - eggs don't roll at all, staying in a circle. Gets hot enough to make really good pancakes and is big enough to make four. Haven't tried the grill side yet.
Surface heating seems to be uniform. I browned all four pancakes to the same level of 'brownness'.
UPDATE (June 2010):
The numbers on the thermostat wash off within 6 months. You will not be able to determine temperature settings. Manufacturer is unresponsive.
Non-Stick Grill
I like it. The next best thing to a commercial-grade grill. The entire surface temperature appears to be even as I don't see a difference in how quickly items cook on one side versus the other or the edges versus the middle. Any griddle you buy will be a pain to clean (isn't cleaning ALWAYS a PAIN?) but this one cleans relatively easy. The griddle/grill lifts off the base and there is a drip-pan underneath that is also removable.
Only problem I have, which is not really a problem with the griddle, is that I can't be running too many items in the kitchen while I use it because it will trip the Kitchen Outlets' circuit breaker.
