Third induction cooker
I've been using induction cooking for 12 years and love it. First an Iwatani, Japanese made then, now made in China. There weren't many choices in 2000. I paid $500.00 and loved it despite fan noise and nuisance of buttons that had to be pushed repeatedly to get the setting wanted. It went bad after several years, I contacted a repair service, got the part ($100.00), and the unit functioned again. I used it on a daily basis. Quit again after a number of years. I replaced it with an American-made unit made by a company that primarily manufactures for food-service companies. I liked the rotary dial to change settings, but the fan noise was still a problem, even worse than the Iwatani.
When it quit a few weeks ago I looked to replace it locally and went to a restaurant supply where I found they were running a special on induction cookers. Cheap Quality - Have had 2 fail on me in 1 year
I do use this product commercially in my pizzeria and I would not recommend it. I have now gone through 2 units, which the first was replaced under warranty. They both seemed to fail the same way. First the fan starts making a noise and then the product makes a whistling noise and then it will not stay on and displays E01 code. It starts and then it stops. The latest one the warranty expired so I decided to open it and quickly learned why it was failing. Very poor plastic construction internally. Basically, the fan breaks the plastic mount and becomes loose. The plastic case that holds everything in place was severely cracked and broken where the screws hold it in place (let me remind you, it just sits in one place...it's not like someone is throwing the thing around). My theory is that once the fan mount breaks, it can no longer cool properly, which throws a code turning it off. Returned Induction Cooktop
The unit was returned and replaced with a NuWave Induction Cook top. The IC-1800W did not control temperature at all and shut down before it boiled water.
