Brew Pot - It certainly leaks
Price is excellent, but you get what you pay for. I had read the other reviews and figured I would have a leak as well. Sure enough I did. However my leak was not solved by some Teflon tape and a wrench. I waited until brewing day to test/fix the pot, my mistake, as I was ready to go all set up, except the pot. To correct my leak, I had to buy new o-rings and grind down the the hole edges smooth. This was done only for the thermometer, as the valve did not leak. After all the extra finishing, which should have been done by the manufacture, I had a non-leaking pot and brewed a nice stout (I hope anyway - time will tell).
Leaks
Tje kettle leaked out of the holes where handles are welded in. Ran down sides constantly and pooled under kettle making popping sounds burning. Had to take liquid level below handles. Poorly made.
pitting and pin-hole leak.
This product is not seamless. That is to say, it is made from 18 gauge stainless sheet metal that is welded to the bottom to make the kettle. This is perfectly fine, but mine came with a pin-hole leak on one of the welded seams, which I'm surprised passed quality control. Closer inspection revealed several small pits along the seams as well, which means the quality of the weld is poor. I made no attempt to return the product so I cannot vouch for customer service. Instead, I tried to TIG weld the pin hole, but this just grew the hole along the seam (another sign of a poor quality weld). I ended up having to silver solder it. It is now functional, but not so pretty.
